This was my second annual holiday special, and also the last show of the semester. Just a brief correction: I incorrectly attributed the classic version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to Tex Ritter, but the credit belongs with another singing cowboy, Mr. Gene Autry. My apologies for the mistake.

An autumn/Thanksgiving themed episode. I was joined in studio, but not on air, by my parents who requested "Harvest Moon," "You're the Reason," "Blue Moon of Kentucky," and "Sap."

This program featured a new segment that I call a "story set." Essentially, I put two unrelated songs back to back in a manner that implies some kind of story or narrative. This story set was made up of the last two tracks: "Lonely Man" by Spencer Wiggins, and "Eight Men, Four Women" by O.V. Wright.

My idea of an oldies rock show... Mostly R&B, Blues, and Country!

As a side note, if you were thinking of buying only one recording from this play list for your personal collection I would highly recommend looking into Little Junior Parker's Sun recordings. They are some of the earliest (I would argue the earliest) examples of rock and roll, and they are tragically overlooked. They are also a heck of a lot of fun!

A show made up of R&B covers of Country Music. If you liked the selections I played, and want to find more R&B renditions of Country, here are some recordings to look for.

Otis Redding: "Tennessee Waltz" on the album The Otis Redding Dictionary Of Soul: Complete & Unbelievable.

Otis Redding: "You Don't Miss Your Water" on the album Otis Blue/Otis Redding Sings Soul. Although actually a cover of an R&B classic, it was later recorded in a country style by The Byrds on their 1968 album Sweetheart of the Rodeo.
